finding my green;

So this is going to be a bit of a life update.

Work is good- the same really. Definitely loving this short break!!

I am not sure what to do about my Youtube channel. I really like making videos, but I go through phases of having tons of ideas and filming a lot, to having NO ideas and feeling like filming is a chore. I know that if I ever want this to go anywhere I need to make it a priority, but I also don't want to do these typical 'beauty guru' type videos .. Like. Here's the thing. I love making videos about fashion and makeup and stuff. It is so fun. But EVERYONE does that and I don't feel like I have anything unique to say...?? I don't know. I might be done making videos, or I might be back in like 2 days with the most stereotypical white girl video ever. MYSTERY.

Recently, I've been listening to a ton of Jillian Michaels podcasts, through which I've become even more inspired to live a healthy life.
If you know me, you know that I've gotten a lot healthier over the past couple years- I am never not eating vegetables, basically.
However, like many others, I have had a major love-hate relationship with food all my life and went through some major struggles my senior year of college because of it.

Anyway, after moving to NYC and getting my life somewhat in order, I began prioritizing health, and started doing light workouts, and implementing a ton of green into my meals. Nowadays, I actually find it fun to think of ways to take indulgent meals and make them healthier by swapping out different ingredients!

Aside from the food thing, in the past few days I have really been re-evaluating the whole beauty product aspect of the 'living well' concept.. And by that I mean I have been doing some research into organic hair and makeup products, beginning with this website, which has a TON of information on brands, ingredients to look for/avoid, etc.

To make a long story short, I grabbed my first couple organic beauty products recently! One is the Physicians Formula Organic Wear CC Cream (LOVE) and the other is a replacement for my beloved leave-in conditioner, and its the Raw Shea Butter Extra Moisture Detangler.
Let me tell you, I bought this because I ran out of my leave in conditioner that I was completely obsessed with, and I thought nothing could top it but did not want to spend the $16 to replace it. Anyway, after much deliberation in Duane Reade, I grabbed this one and LOVE IT SO MUCH. It smells amazing- but not a perfumey smell- it just smells like nature- just clean basically. And it detangles my hair BETTER than the previous product, and also makes my hair softer. Bam. Obsessed.

Anyway, my plan is to replace current beauty products after I run out of things, so slowly but surely, I will have a completely green beauty regime!

All for now- just wanted to chat for a sec. :)
