hungry, healthy, happy;
Well hello.
I never EVER use this blog anymore, but here I am!
I've been going through an issue lately where I am basically bored with my life. To curb that issue, first: I started making youtube videos; second: I got a rabbit; third (and quite recently): I became determined to become one of those people who makes healthy smoothies/green juice for breakfast.
SO, today I went to Trader Joe's and got the following:
-bananas
-mango
-pineapple.. (yep, a full sized pineapple which I have NO IDEA how to bust open)
-kale
-spinach
-cucumber
-coconut milk (to act as a binding agent)
See??
Ignore the greek yogurt.. that is not for the smoothie-ing.
Since I do not have a juicer, these are going to be green "smoothies" rather than juice and hopefully at least semi-filling!
My plan for week/work days going forward is to have this for breakfast. The only bothersome part of this arrangement is that I will have to either A) forego carrying my to-go cup of coffee to work with me or B) find a very sturdy cup for said smoothies and drink them once I get to work.. but then it probably wouldn't be too cold.. MEH.
It'll probably end up that I either drink these at home or on the way to work... Maybe I'll even do the unthinkable and cut down on coffee..
Did I just say that?
No.
Maybe.
We will see.
But anyway, green smoothies will be breakfast. Then I will probably continue to do what I always do for lunch (which is basically pasta or rice smothered in various veggies). THEN I am really going to try to incorporate an afternoon snack into my life because I always get SOOO hungry between lunch & dinner.
Thus, the Greek yogurt. I've been having it for breakfast this week, but its super healthy and chock full of protein, and would definitely make for a sweet/filling afternoon snack for me.
Dinners will probably be the same old same old (more pasta or rice smothered in various veggies), and then I do try not to snack TOO much after dinner but.. sometimes I fail at that..
OOH! Maybe I'll keep some frozen grapes handy as a sweet/healthy evening snack!
BRILLIANCE. (thank you Meredith Foster aka stilababe09 for the youtube video in which this was suggested!!)
This is going to be good guys.
Its like a health makeover!!
I do think that I eat relatively healthy now, but I do need to start incorporating those healthy snacks so I can keep my blood sugar in check and not cave in and eat sweets.
I'm excited! Happy Friday, friends! :)
